PACE British School (PBS) is seeking an exceptional, ambitious and student-centred Vice Principal to join our senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in the next stage of our development. This is an exciting role and has become vacant after the current VP has been promoted to Principal following the current Principal’s promotion to Education Director of the PACE Group.

The role
The Vice Principal will work closely with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic leadership across the school, supporting the delivery of outstanding teaching, learning, pastoral care and operational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will be a visible and inspirational leader who can motivate staff, build strong relationships with students and parents, and contribute significantly to the continued growth and success of the school.
While we are open to applications from outstanding leaders across all phases, experience in primary leadership would be particularly advantageous as it would help maintain a balanced skillset within the Senior Leadership Team. However, excellent candidates with substantial secondary leadership experience will be given equal consideration.
Key areas of responsibility
The Vice Principal will:
Strategic leadership
Support the Principal in the implementation of the school's vision, strategic priorities, policies and improvement plans.
Contribute to the development and review of school policies, procedures and regulations.
Participate fully in Senior Leadership Team meetings and lead meetings in the Principal's absence.
Promote innovation and identify opportunities to improve school effectiveness through the use of technology and emerging educational practices.
Remain informed about current educational research, developments and best practice.
Teaching, learning and curriculum
Support Heads of Section and middle leaders in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of curriculum initiatives.
Support internal and external assessment processes.
Assist in the review and implementation of curriculum resources and textbooks.
Work collaboratively with leaders to analyse school performance data and drive continuous improvement.
Staff leadership and development
Assist in the recruitment, induction, onboarding and retention of high-quality staff.
Support the supervision, coaching and professional development of teaching and support staff.
Contribute to performance management processes and professional growth planning.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Student welfare, behaviour and pastoral care
Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and student wellbeing.
Support Heads of Section with attendance, safeguarding and discipline matters.
Meet with students and families to address concerns and ensure positive outcomes.
Work closely with inclusion teams, counsellors and external agencies to support student needs.
Ensure a positive, safe and nurturing environment where all students can thrive.
Parent and community engagement
Develop strong partnerships with parents and the wider community.
Support school events, celebrations, graduations and promotional activities.
Assist in communicating school initiatives and achievements to stakeholders.
Act as a positive ambassador for PACE British School at all times.
School operations
Assist with school organisation, timetabling and staffing arrangements.
Coordinate teacher cover when required.
Support classroom organisation and resource planning.
Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation required by the Principal and regulatory authorities.
Maintain a strong visible presence throughout the school.
Additional leadership responsibilities
Support orientation programmes for new students.
Oversee and support school events, extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
Undertake additional duties as directed by the Principal in support of the school's strategic priorities.
Essential requirements
