The role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all electrical components, including power distribution systems, control panels, PLCs, HMIs, and automation systems. The Electrician plays a critical role in minimizing Non-Productive Time (NPT) by proactively identifying issues, performing preventive maintenance, and responding effectively to equipment failures in field operations. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on catwalks and bucking units to ensure optimal performance and reliabilityTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults in PLC systems, including input/output modules, communication networks, and control logicMaintain and troubleshoot Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems, including resolving system freezes, restarts, and communication failuresDiagnose and repair Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) used in motors controlling conveyors, rollers, and bucking unit rotation systemsPerform electrical maintenance on motors, sensors, encoders, limit switches, solenoid valves, relays, and control panelsSupport maintenance and troubleshooting of torque-turn systems, ensuring accurate make-up and break-out operationsInspect, test, and maintain electrical safety systems, including emergency stops (E-stops), interlocks, alarms, and protective devicesConduct routine equipment inspections and functional testing to identify potential failures before they occur.Perform fault finding on power distribution systems, including breakers, contactors, transformers, and junction boxesRead, interpret, and update electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematicsCarry out cable termination, wiring, and panel modifications as required during maintenance or upgradesAssist in rig-up, commissioning, rig-down, and mobilization/demobilization of catwalk and bucking unit equipmentEnsure compliance with Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and Permit to Work systems during all maintenance activitiesPerform preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical equipmentRepair electrical equipment such as panel lighting, circuit breakers, junction boxes, voltage regulators and reverse current relaysMaintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all electrical equipmentRead and analyze electrical drawings, schematics and equipment manualsRepair or replace defective or worn electrical partsTroubleshoot miscellaneous electrical equipmentForesee potential equipment malfunctions or failures and preforms required repairs, adjustments or modification to resolve the problemCoordinate with Maintenance Manager on the maintenance, repair and refurbishment of equipmentEnsure availability of critical electrical spare parts, and initiate material requests when requiredSupport root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for major equipment failures and implement corrective actionsRespond to emergency breakdowns promptly and efficiently to minimize downtime and operational disruptionMaintain high standards of housekeeping and equipment condition at all times.Comply with all HSE policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment and zero harm to personnel and equipmentProvide technical support and guidance to junior personnel when requiredParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and safetyPerform any other duties as may be assigned by the Line Manager in line with business requirementsBachelors/Diploma in EngineeringMust possess and maintain certifications and licenses necessary as required by the appropriate regulatory authorities Must possess mathematical skills required for certification as an ElectricianMust have proficient knowledge of diagnostic equipmentMust be able to obtain appropriate offshore or, onshore certificationsShould have at least 6 years of work experience in maintaining electrical equipmentKnowledgeable and proficient in basic rigger's role to ensure safe lifting operations are performedKnowledgeable of electrical systems and be skilled at working with hand and power tools
