We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Specialist Radiation Oncologist to join a leading healthcare facility. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive radiation oncology care, develop individualized treatment plans for cancer patients, and work closely with medical oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered cancer care.
Key responsibilities
Evaluate and diagnose patients with various types of cancer requiring radiation therapy.
Develop individualized radiation treatment plans based on diagnosis, staging, pathology, imaging, and clinical condition.
Prescribe and supervise radiation therapy according to established clinical protocols.
Manage patients receiving external beam radiation therapy and other radiation treatment modalities within the scope of expertise.
Review treatment plans in collaboration with medical physicists and radiation therapy teams.
Monitor patients throughout treatment and manage radiation-related side effects and complications.
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and cancer case discussions.
Interpret relevant pathology reports, CT/MRI/PET imaging, laboratory investigations, and other diagnostic studies.
Provide appropriate supportive and palliative care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Counsel patients and families regarding treatment options, expected outcomes, potential side effects, and follow-up care.
Participate in cancer surveillance and follow-up programs.
Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and clinical documentation.
Work closely with medical physicists, radiation therapists, dosimetrists, medical oncologists, and surgical teams.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and continuing medical education (CME).
Ensure compliance with healthcare authority regulations, radiation safety standards, hospital policies, and patient safety protocols.
