Our Abu Dhabi Government client is seeking a motivated UAE National Internal Auditor to join its internal audit function.
This is ideal for someone in the earlier stages of their internal audit career who wants to build their experience within a government organisation in a team with another 7 auditors. You will support the delivery of financial, operational and compliance audits, supporting senior members of the audit team. This position is exclusively open to UAE Nationals holding a valid family book.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the delivery of the annual internal audit plan, with a focus on financial audit areas.
• Assist with financial audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork and reporting, in line with internal audit standards and methodologies.
• Help assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes and governance frameworks, particularly in relation to financial operations.
• Identify financial risks and control gaps and raise these with senior audit team members.
• Take part in operational, financial, compliance and IT audits, with a strong emphasis on financial statement audits and other financial reviews.
• Prepare clear, well-organised audit working papers and contribute to audit reports outlining findings and recommendations.
• Follow up on the implementation of agreed audit recommendations, particularly those relating to financial controls.
• Build good working relationships with staff across the organisation during audit fieldwork.
• Keep up to date with relevant laws, regulations and best practice in internal auditing and the government sector in the UAE, particularly financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Support ad-hoc reviews and investigations as required.
Requirements:
• UAE National with a valid family book.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is essential.
• A professional qualification (or part-qualification), such as CA, ACCA or CPA, is preferred but not essential.
• 2–5 years of experience in internal auditing, ideally with some exposure to financial audits within the government sector or a large organisation in the UAE.
• Good understanding of internal auditing standards (e.g. IPPF), risk management frameworks (e.g. COSO) and corporate governance principles.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in financial data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Comfortable building working relationships with colleagues at different levels.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with audit software is an advantage.
• High level of integrity, objectivity and professional ethics.
Salary:
AED
25,000 to 35,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
