Job overview
Wood is currently recruiting for senior piping engineer under ADNOC Offshore Umm Shaif Khuff Gas Surface Pressure Boosting (SPB) project - package 4.
The role will be responsible for providing piping engineering oversight and technical assurance throughout the engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, and startup phases of the project.
The successful candidate will work closely with ADNOC Offshore, EPC contractors, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and project management personnel to ensure all piping system designs and installations comply with ADNOC requirements, project specifications, international standards, and project objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
Job objective
Provide technical expertise in all piping design
Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards
Coordinate, monitor, and handle piping design and engineering with EPC contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame
Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC contractor, ADNOC engineering, operation, and site interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality discipline engineering execution and integrity
Perform regular and timely technical reviews of piping engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants and contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices
Responsibilities
Ensure integration of overall piping engineering and overall coordination within IPMT piping engineering team
Ensure quality and accuracy of engineering consultant’s and EPC contractor’s piping engineering design activities
Review and approve engineering consultant's and EPC contractor’s work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices
Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models
Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation
Participate in teams for equipment sizing and equipment selection considering optimization and standardization
Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects
Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects
Participate in layout reviews, model review, design reviews, and technical workshops
Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers
Coordinate technical reviews, bid evaluation, and performance evaluation
Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning
Report to ADNOC discipline team leader, engineering manager, and provide support to project managers and engineers within the project management team organization
Interface with managers, team leaders, and engineers in company's technical departments, business units, operations units, and logistics department
Interface regularly with contractor’s engineering and project management team and discipline engineers as and when required
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry
Significant experience in offshore oil and gas projects, preferably with ADNOC or major Middle East operators
Proven experience within PMC, EPCM, or EPC project environments
Previous experience as a senior piping engineer on major offshore projects
Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards
Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software
Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing, and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems
