Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.5 - 8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with strong experience in Fixed Assets and CAPEX accounting.Minimum 3 years of experience in FMCG industry.Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting, capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and asset reconciliation.Hands-on experience in CAPEX accounting, project cost tracking, and Construction in Progress (CIP).Good knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Oracle, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor CAPEX budgets, variances, and financial commitments.
Description
Lead and oversee accounting activities related to fixed assets and CAPEX investments.Review and control CAPEX projects from an accounting perspective, ensuring proper classification, capitalization, and allocation of costs.Monitor CAPEX spending against approved budgets and follow up on project commitments and variances.Review supporting documents for asset additions and ensure compliance with approved policies and authorization requirements.Ensure proper capitalization of completed projects and timely transfer of assets from Construction in Progress (CIP) to fixed assets.Supervise fixed asset additions, transfers, reclassifications, disposals, and write-offs.Ensure accurate maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register and reconciliation with the General Ledger.Review depreciation calculations and ensure accurate and timely accounting entries.Coordinate periodic physical verification of fixed assets and investigate and resolve discrepancies.Lead month-end and year-end closing activities related to fixed assets, CAPEX, and depreciation.Prepare CAPEX, fixed assets, depreciation, and reconciliation reports for management.Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Projects, and other relevant functions on CAPEX and fixed asset matters.Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules, analysis, and supporting documentation.
