Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Junior Consultant – Neurologist to join our government healthcare facility in the UAE.
The successful candidate will provide specialized neurological assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of adult patients with neurological disorders. The role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
The Junior Consultant will contribute to high-quality, evidence-based patient care while supporting clinical education, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic neurological conditions.
Conduct comprehensive neurological examinations and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
Manage neurological emergencies, including acute stroke, seizures, status epilepticus, altered consciousness, and other acute neurological conditions.
Evaluate and manage patients with epilepsy, headache disorders, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuropathies, neuromuscular disorders, dementia, and other neurological conditions.
Order and interpret appropriate laboratory investigations, neuroimaging, EEG, EMG/NCS, and other diagnostic tests as required.
Provide inpatient and outpatient neurological consultations.
Collaborate with emergency medicine, internal medicine, neurosurgery, rehabilitation, radiology, and other specialties.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical case discussions.
Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up plans clearly to patients and their families.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records and clinical documentation.
Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, facility policies, clinical guidelines, and patient-safety standards.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement programs, and service development initiatives.
Support and supervise junior physicians and participate in teaching and mentoring activities.
Participate in continuing medical education and professional development activities.
Participate in on-call, weekend, and public holiday duties as required.
Requirements
