The Chief Operating Officer - Canada is responsible for overseeing the overall business operations strategy as this is crucial for DP World Canada’s growth and success. This position will manage and control diverse business operations and functions, so we expect you to be a hardworking and inspiring leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy
- Design, plan and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
- Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO
- Establish policies and procedures that promote company culture and vision
- Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
Generic Accountabilities
- Promote and demonstrate positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Our Principles.
- Ensure that the highest levels of safety are applied in all activities.
- Establish effective leadership and participation in the HSEMS through demonstration and display of safety behaviors.
- Actively communicate the HSEMS requirements with superintendents, foreman, contractors, and workers.
- Participate in the review and development of materials and documentations in the HSEMS.
- Ensure workers under your direction are properly trained and educated to perform their duties.
- Ensure that operations comply with both the law and the HSEMS.
- Conduct regular inspections of the workplace and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Ensure that personnel under your direction have a clear understanding of the discipline policy for dealing with consequences of inappropriate conduct or behavior.
- Understand and adhere to DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- MA in Business Administration or similar relevant field
- In-depth knowledge of different business functions such as HR, Finance, Marketing, Safety etc.
- Hands on experience in strategic planning and business development
- Exception knowledge experience with data analysis and KPIs
- Familiarity with IT/Business infrastructure
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Great communication and presentation skills
- Problem-solving mindset
