Description

The J.P. Morgan Benelux M&A and Corporate Finance team is responsible for execution of public and private M&A transactions involving Benelux corporate and financial sponsor clients and for international clients involving businesses based in the Benelux region. We maintain leading relationships with some of the most prominent clients in the Benelux and aid them, through M&A and corporate finance advice, in delivering on their corporate strategy and structure. We are involved in the vast majority of the major M&A transactions that take place in the Benelux and consistently rank as one of the Benelux's pre-eminent M&A advisory franchises. Often, members of the deal team interact on a daily basis with the client's senior management.

As an Investment Banking Analyst within the Benelux M&A and Corporate Finance team, you will play a crucial role in the origination and execution of investment banking mandates across all major product areas.. Your responsibilities include participating in the "full cycle" of transactional execution including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations for use in M&A, public or private capital markets transactions and strategic dialogue.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables and LBO analyses
  • Support daily deal execution and project management of clients 

  • Prepare presentation books, management presentations, Board materials, Memorandums, and other presentation materials for use in corporate finance transactions or strategic client dialogue

  • Perform detailed combination, transaction structuring analysis and other financial analysis

  • Work with J.P. Morgan product and sector teams
     

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Relevant full-time Investment Banking or Corporate Finance experience, with a track record of assisting with executing M&A and capital markets transactions
  • Proven financial modelling / valuation skills / analytical skills, with high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to handle pressure whilst multitasking on numerous projects
  • Knowledge about the transaction cycle of relevant investment banking products
  • Demonstrate commitment to a strong teamwork environment
  • Being adaptable, flexible and resilient; ability to work self-directed and independently and to multitask on numerous assignments
  • High level of attention to detail and developed time management skills
  • Highly organized, detail orientated and proactive 
  • Proficiency in MS office applications and relevant knowledge of customary investment banking databases (FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.)
     

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Outstanding academic qualification 
  • In-depth understanding of investment banking products 
  • Experience in dealing with clients and other transactional advisers
  • Fluent in English and Dutch

 

This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
