Job Location - Bangkok, Thailand

Job Purpose

  • The DP World HSW Assurance Assistant Manager will provide oversite of Site Engineer and Contractors activities to ensure that they are aligned with DP World requirements for construction and are abiding by their contract conditions. 

  • The role will work closely with the DP World site Project Manager and other DP World staff assigned to or involved in the Project. 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies; 

  • Ensure that project consultant and contractors have plans in place to manage Health, Safety, Security and Welfare performance on site. 

  • Review submitted HS&W plans for gaps and make recommendations for improvements. 

  • Undertake daily and weekly site inspections focused on high risk activities and controls. 

  • Review incident investigations and monitor corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. 

  • Ensure HS&W meetings, reporting, risk registers, inductions, training, and emergency preparedness are implemented and maintained. 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • University or higher vocational degree/diploma and certification in health & safety; or technical education with additional HS&W training. 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing HS&W performance on major construction projects. 

  • Experience working in matrix organizations and expansion projects with existing operations. 

  • Experience in construction projects within Port and Terminals industry (preferred). 

Skills 

  • Broad knowledge of construction activities in terminals and heavy industry environments. 

  • Strong communication skills with excellent English and Thai; other languages advantageous. 

  • Problem solving, diligence, accountability, and ability to work in multicultural environments.
