Job description
Key deliverables and responsibilities:
Planning & organizing:
Attend day-to-day service for repair and maintenance work requested by Cluster Assistant Chief Engineer related to electrical troubleshooting work.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown and take corrective action accordingly.
Inspect electrical systems as per preventive maintenance schedule for equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment.
Advise team members on whether continued operation of any electrical equipment could be hazardous.
Plan layout and installation of electrical equipment, wiring, and fixtures based on specifications and local codes.
Regularly test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ammeters, multimeters, and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
Carry out all necessary risk assessments and follow fire safety regulations to troubleshoot safely.
Closely monitor co-workers for installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, fixtures, and maintenance tasks.
Utilize a variety of tools and equipment such as power machines, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
Ensure the quality of all work completed by both employees and external contracted staff adheres to standards of good engineering practice.
Inspect electrical wiring, circuits, lighting systems, and control panels.
Repair or replace faulty switches, sockets, breakers, and lighting fixtures.
Ensure all electrical systems operate efficiently and safely.
Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance for electrical equipment.
Identify potential issues and take corrective actions to prevent breakdowns.
Maintain proper records of maintenance activities.
Diagnose electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms and departments.
Minimize downtime of electrical systems and equipment.
Assist in installation of new electrical equipment, fixtures, and systems.
Support renovation and refurbishment projects.
Ensure installations comply with technical standards and safety regulations.
Follow all safety procedures while working with electrical systems.
Ensure compliance with Dubai regulations and hotel safety standards.
Use appropriate tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Report any safety hazards or risks immediately.
Work closely with other technicians (HVAC, plumbing, carpentry) for maintenance tasks.
Coordinate with engineering team for major repairs or projects.
Support other departments with electrical-related requirements.
