Emerson is seeking a motivated and collaborative Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of control system solutions for New Generation Projects across North America. Based in Cranberry Township, PA, this role is part of a dedicated team advancing emerging and evolving power generation technologies. You will focus on engineering execution, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, customers, and internal partners to deliver reliable, high-quality control systems. 


In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Design, configure, and implement control system solutions for new generation power projects
  • Develop high-quality engineering deliverables that meet customer requirements for safety, quality, performance, and reliability
  • Collaborate with engineers, project teams, customers, and architect/engineering (A/E) firms to support system design and technical alignment
  • Configure and test Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platforms
  • Participate in Design Review Meetings, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and onsite system commissioning activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during engineering, testing, and commissioning phases
  • Apply and follow established engineering standards, tools, and best practices
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and technical solutions
  • Contribute to customer discussions, technical presentations, and proposal development as needed

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or similar STEM degree or combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience, preferably in power generation or industrial environments
  • Experience with new generation or emerging power technologies (e.g., renewables integration, hydrogen, energy storage, or advanced thermal systems)
  • Experience designing, implementing, or supporting control systems using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platforms.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically 
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
