This is a client secondment role supporting one of our major energy sector clients, with an assignment duration of three years. The Specialist Corrosion Engineer will provide subject matter expertise in corrosion and materials engineering, supporting the development and implementation of asset integrity and corrosion management programmes across a large and complex portfolio of onshore oil and gas facilities. The role will focus on the delivery of corrosion risk assessments, corrosion management frameworks, integrity operating windows, risk-based inspection methodologies and specialist technical studies to support safe, reliable and efficient operation of client assets. The successful candidate will work as part of an integrated client team, providing technical leadership, mentoring engineering personnel and ensuring alignment with international best practice and industry standards. Provide specialist technical expertise in corrosion engineering, material selection, corrosion monitoring, coatings and cathodic protection. Lead Corrosion Risk Assessment Studies (CRAS) and support Integrity Operating Window (IOW) development initiatives. Review and optimise corrosion control measures including coatings, cathodic protection systems, corrosion monitoring programmes, probes, coupons and chemical treatment systems. Support enhancement of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies and integration with asset integrity management programmes. Act as technical authority for corrosion-related fitness-for-service (FFS), root cause analysis (RCA) and life extension studies. Facilitate workshops, technical reviews and stakeholder engagement sessions with client personnel. Evaluate corrosion threats, degradation mechanisms and damage mechanisms in accordance with API 571 and associated industry standards. Develop technical reports, corporate procedures, manuals and engineering recommendations. Provide mentoring and technical guidance to engineers and integrity personnel. Demonstrated experience delivering Corrosion Risk Assessment Studies (CRAS) and supporting Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programmes. Experience developing or supporting Integrity Operating Window (IOW) programmes and associated monitoring frameworks. Extensive knowledge of corrosion monitoring technologies and mitigation strategies. Strong understanding of damage mechanisms affecting fixed equipment and piping systems. Practical experience supporting Fitness-for-Service assessments in accordance with API 579. Familiarity with major regional operators standards, procedures and asset integrity practices is highly desirable. Previous experience supporting National Oil Companies (NOCs), major international operators or large operating assets in the Middle East preferred.
