Description
Job PurposeTo supervise and coordinate daily joinery, carpentry, modular and fit-out activities, ensuring that work is completed according to approved drawings, required quality standards, production schedules and safety requirements. The Foreman will lead the workshop/site team, allocate work, monitor progress and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities of carpenters, joiners and fit-out workers. Allocate tasks to team members based on production priorities, skills and workload. Monitor daily work progress and ensure activities are completed within the planned schedule. Read and interpret drawings, specifications and work instructions related to joinery, carpentry and fit-out works. Supervise the fabrication and installation of wooden, modular and interior fit-out components. Ensure proper measurement, cutting, assembly, finishing and installation of joinery works. Check the quality and accuracy of completed work and ensure compliance with approved standards. Coordinate with Production, Design, Engineering and other departments to resolve work-related issues. Ensure that required materials, tools and equipment are available before commencing work. Monitor material usage and minimize wastage. Identify defects, workmanship issues or deviations and arrange necessary corrections. Guide and train team members on proper working methods and workmanship standards. Ensure that tools, machinery and the work area are maintained in a safe and organized condition. Ensure employees follow company safety procedures and use the required PPE. Maintain discipline and productivity within the assigned team. Report daily progress, manpower requirements, material requirements and production issues to the reporting manager. Support urgent and time-sensitive production requirements and ensure deadlines are achieved. Coordinate with other trades during fit-out activities to avoid delays or clashes.
