Logistics BuyerPosition PurposeA leading industrial organization is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Buyer – Consumables & Engineering Spares to support logistics, warehouse, maintenance, and operational activities through the effective procurement of consumables, maintenance materials, engineering spares, tools, and operational supplies.The role is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of critical materials required to support daily operations, equipment reliability, warehouse functionality, and production continuity, while maintaining cost competitiveness and strong supplier performance.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & SourcingSource and procure logistics consumables, engineering spares, maintenance materials, tools, PPE, warehouse supplies, and operational equipment.Obtain quotations, conduct commercial evaluations, and support supplier selection processes.Issue and manage purchase orders in accordance with company procedures and approval processes.Ensure purchased materials meet required specifications, quality standards, and delivery requirements.Supplier ManagementDevelop and maintain effective relationships with local and international suppliers.Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, responsiveness, pricing, and service levels.Support negotiations to improve pricing, lead times, payment terms, and overall service.Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers to strengthen the supplier base.Operational SupportWork closely with logistics, warehouse, maintenance, engineering, and operational teams to understand material requirements and priorities.Ensure the availability of critical consumables and engineering spares to minimize operational disruptions and equipment downtime.Support urgent procurement activities during equipment breakdowns or operational emergencies.Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely delivery of required materials.Inventory & Cost ControlAssist in monitoring stock levels, consumption patterns, and replenishment requirements for consumables and engineering spares.Identify opportunities for inventory optimization and cost reduction.Support standardization initiatives for commonly used consumables, tools, and spare parts.Monitor purchasing costs and identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency.Systems, Reporting & ComplianceMaintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, purchase orders, and ERP system updates.Prepare and maintain procurement reports and purchasing documentation.Support the development and implementation of procurement procedures and reporting structures.Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and approval requirements.Maintain accurate documentation for audit and reporting purposes.Continuous ImprovementContribute to the ongoing development and improvement of logistics and procurement processes.Support the implementation of new procurement processes, systems, and operational initiatives.Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, supplier performance, and material availability.Participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving operational performance.RequirementsDiploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, or supply chain functions.Experience within manufacturing, automotive, industrial, engineering, or logistics environments is preferred.Previous experience purchasing engineering spares, consumables, maintenance materials, tools, PPE, and operational supplies is advantageous.Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.Strong organizational, negotiation, and supplier management skills.Good understanding of logistics, procurement, and industrial operations.Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Problem-solving and cost-conscious mindset.Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to urgent operational requirements.
