Supervise and manage the work of the swimming assistant to support effective lesson delivery. Maintain constant supervision of children in and around the pool to ensure their safety at all times. Plan and deliver engaging, structured swimming lessons tailored to different ages and abilities. Organize and participate in swimming galas, competitions, and other sports-related events. Liaise with class teachers and classroom assistants regarding the care and supervision of children before, during, and after lessons. Lead and run extra-curricular swimming programs for students. Ensure that a staff member is always present monitoring children in the water while lessons are in progress.Specific Duties: Plan and deliver training programs tailored to different ages and skill levels, focusing on technique, fitness, and water safety. Coach and mentor students in swimming techniques, competition preparation, and goal-setting, promoting discipline and sportsmanship. Monitor and assess progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and school management. Ensure safety and wellbeing by enforcing pool rules, supervising activities, and responding to emergencies. Organize competitions and events, managing logistics, equipment, and team participation.Wider Professional responsibilities: Maintain clear and professional communication with students, classroom assistants, and teaching staff regarding lesson plans, progress, and safety. Coordinate with teachers and school staff to schedule lessons, extra-curricular activities, and events. Provide regular updates and feedback to colleagues about student performance and poolside supervision. Liaise with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and any safety concerns. Communicate with external organizations, such as competition organizers, swimming federations, and health/safety authorities.
