Role PurposeResponsible for leading and supervising the contracts team in managing the full lifecycle of project contracts and subcontracts. The role includes overseeing contract administration, claim evaluations, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with both contractual obligations and applicable legal frameworks. The Contracts Team Leader acts as a key point of coordination between internal departments, subcontractors, and clients on all contract-related matters.Promote awareness of the fundamental contract terms and requirements to the projects team members and stakeholders.Identify and manage risks related to any Project at any stage – develop early warning systems.Contract Performance Monitoring and Control.Ensure the implementation of a proper change control procedure.Key AccountabilitiesLead and manage the day-to-day activities of the contracts team across the project, ensuring consistency in processes and deliverables.Review and interpret contract terms, conditions, and obligations for the main contract and subcontract agreements.Oversee the preparation and evaluation of claims, variations, and time extension requests in line with contract terms and project progress.Support contract negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring alignment with the main contract requirements and risk profile.Ensure all contractual communications, notices, and records are maintained accurately and issued in a timely manner.Coordinate with legal, commercial, procurement, and planning teams to resolve contractual issues and manage potential disputes.Monitor contract compliance throughout the project and highlight any deviations from scope, budget, or time constraints.Develop and maintain contract registers, variation logs, claims registers, and change control documentation.Provide guidance and technical support to contracts engineers and other team members on contractual interpretation and applicationEnsure all contract management activities adhere to FIDIC standards, Egyptian regulations, and company policies.Managing the Contracts Engineers/Senior Engineers and making sure that all Project related issues are being reported to the Contracts Manager in a timely manner.Be the central point of contact for all contract interpretation issues and compliance concerns.Manage and resolve Contract disputes/issues.Capture any changes to the agreement in the written contract by means of change orders, written amendments, or additional work orders.Ensure compliance to laws, regulations, policies and industry standards.Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & SkillsBachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management.7-9 years of experience in contract management within the construction industry, with a minimum of 2–3 years in a supervisory or team leader role.Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract used in Egypt and the MENA region.Proven experience in claims management, risk mitigation, and dispute avoidance.Proficiency in contract management systems, MS Office, and document control tools.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.Fluent in English (written and spoken).Contracts related certifications/licenses are a plus.PMP Certification is a plus.
