Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a DoH Abu Dhabi–licensed/eligible Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon with dedicated fellowship or advanced training in Foot & Ankle Surgery, with substantial independent experience managing complex foot and ankle trauma, reconstruction, sports injuries and degenerative conditions. Medical degree from a recognized medical school, completed recognized postgraduate training in Orthopedic Surgery, and recognized Board Certification/Specialist or Consultant qualification in Orthopedic Surgery are required. Fellowship or advanced formal training in Foot & Ankle Surgery is highly desirable.

Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Foot & Ankle Surgery to join our Orthopedics Department in Abu Dhabi.The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnosis and surgical management of complex foot and ankle disorders, including sports injuries, trauma, degenerative conditions and deformities.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide consultant-level assessment and management of patients with foot and ankle conditions.Diagnose and treat:Foot and ankle trauma and fracturesSports-related foot and ankle injuriesAnkle instabilityAchilles tendon disordersHallux valgus and forefoot deformitiesFlatfoot and cavus footArthritis and degenerative joint diseaseTendon and ligament disordersComplex foot and ankle deformitiesDiabetic and other complex foot conditions in collaboration with relevant specialtiesPerform appropriate operative procedures, including:Foot and ankle reconstructionAnkle arthroscopyLigament reconstructionAchilles tendon surgeryForefoot and hindfoot surgeryCorrective osteotomyAnkle arthroplasty, where appropriately trainedComplex trauma and fracture fixationProvide preoperative evaluation and individualized surgical treatment plans.Provide postoperative care and coordinate rehabilitation.Work closely with physiotherapists, podiatrists, sports medicine specialists, radiologists and other multidisciplinary teams.Participate in outpatient foot and ankle clinics, operating lists and on-call services as required.Contribute to clinical protocols, quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives.Participate in teaching and supervision of residents, fellows and junior physicians.Contribute to research, clinical audits and service development.Maintain accurate medical records and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and hospital policies.QualificationsMedical degree from a recognized medical school.Completed recognized postgraduate training in Orthopedic Surgery.Recognized Board Certification/Specialist or Consultant qualification in Orthopedic Surgery.Fellowship or advanced formal training in Foot & Ankle Surgery is highly desirable.Valid Department of Health (DoH) Abu Dhabi Consultant license/eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery.Required ExperienceSignificant post-specialist experience as a Consultant/Specialist Orthopedic Surgeon.Demonstrated subspecialty experience in Foot & Ankle Surgery.Strong experience managing complex foot and ankle trauma, deformity and degenerative conditions.Demonstrated independent operative experience in foot and ankle procedures.Experience in a tertiary-care orthopedic center is highly desirable.Preferred ExperienceFellowship training in Foot & Ankle Surgery.Experience in ankle arthroscopy and sports-related foot and ankle surgery.Experience in complex hindfoot and ankle reconstruction.Experience with ankle replacement is an advantage.Experience in diabetic/neuropathic foot management is desirable.Academic, teaching, research or quality-improvement experience is an advantage.Core CompetenciesAdvanced clinical and surgical expertise in Foot & Ankle Surgery.Excellent diagnostic and operative decision-making.Strong technical surgical skills.Ability to manage complex trauma and reconstructive cases.Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork.Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered orthopedic care.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will be a DoH Abu Dhabi–licensed/eligible Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon with dedicated fellowship or advanced training in Foot & Ankle Surgery, with substantial independent experience managing complex foot and ankle trauma, reconstruction, sports injuries and degenerative conditions.
