Description
We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate consultant psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with mental health disorders across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings. The consultant psychiatrist will deliver evidence-based care while collaborating with psychologists, therapists, primary care physicians, and other specialists to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
Key responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, mental status examinations, and risk assessments.
Diagnose and manage a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, OCD, PTSD, substance use disorders, and other mental health conditions.
Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications while ensuring patient safety.
Provide crisis intervention and manage psychiatric emergencies.
Deliver outpatient consultations and provide inpatient psychiatric care where applicable.
Work collaboratively with psychologists, counselors, social workers, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication adherence, relapse prevention, and mental wellness.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with hospital policies and UAE healthcare regulations.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education (CME) activities.
Supervise and mentor junior physicians and allied mental health professionals.
Ensure compliance with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP regulations and international clinical standards.

Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
MD, DPM, Arab Board, CCT, CCST, American Board, or equivalent recognized specialization in psychiatry.
Eligibility for or possession of a valid DHA consultant license.
Minimum 5-10 years of post-specialty experience, including experience as a consultant psychiatrist.
Fellowship or additional training in child & adolescent psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, or forensic psychiatry is an advantage.
