Our leading healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced and highly skilled pediatric surgeon to join its multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care to newborns, infants, children, and adolescents, managing congenital, developmental, acquired, and emergency surgical conditions.
Key responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive pediatric surgical consultations and clinical assessments.
Diagnose and manage surgical conditions affecting newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.
Develop individualized pre-operative and surgical treatment plans.
Perform elective and emergency pediatric surgical procedures within the approved scope of practice.
Manage common pediatric surgical conditions, including hernias, hydroceles, undescended testes, appendicitis, gastrointestinal disorders, and anorectal conditions.
Manage congenital anomalies and neonatal surgical conditions according to experience and clinical privileges.
Perform minimally invasive and laparoscopic pediatric procedures where appropriately qualified.
Assess and manage pediatric surgical emergencies and acute abdominal conditions.
Review and interpret laboratory investigations and relevant imaging, including ultrasound, X-ray, CT, and MRI.
Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care and manage surgical complications.
Counsel parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
Collaborate closely with pediatricians, neonatologists, pediatric intensivists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and other specialists.
Maintain accurate medical records, operative notes, and clinical documentation.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, and patient-safety initiatives.
Participate in on-call and emergency pediatric surgical services as required.
Requirements
MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in pediatric surgery / paediatric surgery or an equivalent specialty qualification.
Relevant post-specialization experience in pediatric surgery.
Strong experience in pediatric and neonatal surgical practice.
Demonstrated ability to manage both elective and emergency pediatric surgical cases.
Experience in minimally invasive / laparoscopic pediatric surgery is an advantage.
Strong clinical judgment, surgical skills, and decision-making abilities.
