Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering, with 6+ years of experience in aerospace/aero-engine manufacturing, industrialization, or supplier development. Must have strong expertise in at least one core commodity (precision machining, sheet metal, welding/brazing, or investment casting) and experience with APQP, PPAP/AS9145, AS9102 FAI, PFMEA, control plans, and process capability. Proficiency in GD&T, engineering drawing interpretation, CAD/CAM, CNC programming, and knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace special processes are essential.

External Job DescriptionLead the technical development and industrialization of assigned suppliers and commodities supporting POWERTECH turbofan, microjet and piston engine programs.Own end-to-end supplier technical readiness, including capability assessment, development planning, APQP, process validation and ramp readiness, while acting as the lead technical presence at supplier facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct supplier technical and process capability assessments for machined, fabricated, welded and cast components.Evaluate manufacturing methods, equipment, tooling, fixturing, metrology, special processes and sub-tier controls.Produce technical qualification reports, risk assessments and supplier development requirements.Challenge supplier manufacturing proposals covering datum strategy, tolerances, work-holding and process capability.Perform capacity studies, time studies and run-at-rate validation.Conduct process capability studies and drive achievement of required Cpk.Own supplier development plans and technical maturity gates.Drive APQP, PFMEA, control plans, operation sheets, routings and work instructions.Support FAI and production part approval readiness.Lead 8D/root cause analysis for dimensional variation, tool life, process instability, scrap and yield issues.Provide technical guidance on machining, forming, welding/brazing, casting, tooling and fixturing.Execute process industrialization and technology-transfer activities.Provide producibility input during design reviews and engineering changes.Act as technical authority for assigned commodities and mentor Engineer I/II employees.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's/Master's in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Materials Engineering.6+ years aerospace/aero-engine manufacturing, industrialization or supplier development experience.Strong expertise in at least one core commodity: precision machining, sheet metal, welding/brazing or investment casting.Experience with APQP, PPAP/AS9145, AS9102 FAI, PFMEA, control plans and process capability.Strong GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.Knowledge of titanium, nickel superalloys, stainless steel and aluminium.CAD/CAM and working knowledge of CNC programming.Knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace special processes.Willingness to travel and work at supplier sites for extended periods.#Powertech
