Role overview
The successful candidate will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment supported by dentists, surgeons, orthodontists, nurses, allied health professionals and modern diagnostic and surgical infrastructure. The role will involve the assessment and surgical management of patients with a broad range of oral and maxillofacial conditions.
Key responsibilities
Assess, diagnose and manage patients requiring oral and maxillofacial surgical care according to clinical scope.
Perform oral surgical procedures, including complex extractions, implant-related surgery, bone grafting and other procedures within the scope of practice.
Manage impacted teeth, oral infections, cysts, benign lesions and other surgical conditions.
Conduct appropriate pre-operative assessments, obtain informed consent and provide comprehensive perioperative and follow-up care.
Collaborate with dental and medical specialties, including orthodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, ENT and oncology, when required.
Manage surgical complications and provide appropriate emergency and post-operative care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety and clinical governance standards.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, service development and quality improvement initiatives.
