Requirements
Minimum 2 years of hands-on Safety/HSE experience in the UAE construction industry is mandatory.Bachelor's degree/diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.NEBOSH, IOSH or other relevant HSE certifications are preferred.Strong practical knowledge of construction site safety procedures and risk management.Experience conducting site inspections, toolbox talks and safety inductions.Good knowledge of risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work systems.Experience handling incident/accident investigations and preparing HSE reports.Strong understanding of PPE requirements and safe work practices.Ability to identify hazards and implement practical corrective measures.Experience working on large-scale residential, commercial or infrastructure construction projects.Experience dealing with consultants, contractors and subcontractors.Familiarity with UAE construction safety requirements and practices.Experience monitoring high-risk activities such as working at height, lifting operations, excavation, scaffolding and hot works.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and effectively coordinate with site teams and subcontractors.Strong documentation and reporting skills.Willingness to work in a site-based construction environment.
Description
We are looking for an experienced Safety Officer / HSE Officer to join our construction team in the UAE.The ideal candidate will have hands-on construction site experience in the UAE, with strong knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements, site safety procedures, risk assessment, inspections and incident prevention.The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring site activities, ensuring compliance with approved safety procedures and UAE requirements, and promoting a strong safety culture across the project.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, conditions and potential hazards.Ensure workers and subcontractors follow approved HSE procedures and site safety requirements.Prepare and maintain risk assessments, method statements and other HSE documentation.Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions and regular safety awareness sessions.Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe occurrences and prepare appropriate reports.Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions.Monitor the proper use of PPE and ensure compliance with site safety rules.Identify potential risks associated with construction activities and recommend appropriate control measures.Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and project management regarding safety matters.Monitor high-risk activities and ensure appropriate permits and control measures are in place.Maintain records of safety inspections, observations, incidents, training and corrective actions.Assist in emergency preparedness, drills and response procedures.Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions across the construction site.Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the project's HSE management system.Report safety violations and follow up on corrective actions until closure.
