Description
Commissioning Engineer responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for offshore and onshore oil & gas facilities, rig equipment, and EPIC projects. Ensures safe system start-up, functional testing, troubleshooting, documentation completion, and successful handover of mechanical and electrical systems in compliance with project, client, class, and HSE requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in accordance with approved procedures, schedules, and industry standards.Coordinate commissioning activities with construction, engineering, operations, vendors, subcontractors, and client representatives.Perform system walkdowns, line checks, functional testing, start-up activities, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment.Prepare and review commissioning procedures, Inspection Test Records (ITRs), RFCCs, RFOCs, punch lists, and commissioning documentation.Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, working at height, and other HSE requirements.Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Task Risk Assessments (TRA) for commissioning activities.Monitor subsystem completion status and track punch-list clearance through PIMS and other completion management systems.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior commissioning engineers.Liaise with clients, classification societies, vendors, and internal departments to resolve commissioning issues and achieve project milestones.Maintain commissioning logs, lessons learned, operational records, and progress reports.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 8 years of hands-on commissioning experience in Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas, Rig Equipment, or EPC/EPIC projects.Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, completion systems, and engineering drawings.Experience with PIMS or similar completion management software.Familiarity with PTW, LOTO, HAZID/JSA, and commissioning safety procedures.Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
