Job Purpose

The Crew Chief is responsible for leading and supervising Weatherford’s Tubular Running Services (TRS) crew at the wellsite, ensuring all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Weatherford procedures, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.

The role provides frontline leadership during casing, tubing, drill pipe, and other tubular running operations. The Crew Chief coordinates closely with the rig crew, client representatives, drilling contractor, and Weatherford operations team to deliver high-quality service, minimize nonproductive time (NPT), and maintain a strong safety and service-quality culture.

The position requires a hands-on leader with strong TRS technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage field operations in a demanding rig environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot operational and equipment issues and take appropriate corrective action.

  • Coach and develop TRS crew members to maintain high technical and safety standards.

  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high-quality service delivery. Safely operate, inspect, and maintain TRS equipment.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Significant minimum 8 years' experience in Tubular Running Services, with proven experience in a senior technician, lead, supervisor, or Crew Chief capacity.
  • Strong experience working on drilling rigs and in rig-floor environments.
  • Experience with casing and tubing running operations is essential.
  • Experience with mechanized or automated TRS systems is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with international oilfield service companies is an advantage.
  • Experience working in the Middle East, particularly the UAE, is an advantage.
  • Offshore and/or onshore drilling experience is preferred, depending on operational requirements.
  • Must be physically capable of working in demanding rig-site environments and working extended shifts/rotations as required.
  • Valid industry-recognized HSE and wellsite certifications appropriate to the assigned operation are preferred/required.
