The successful candidate will provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment exclusively for children, working closely with families and a multidisciplinary clinical team. Key responsibilities Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for children with a range of mental health and behavioural conditions. Develop individualised treatment plans based on each child's clinical needs and developmental stage. Assess and manage conditions including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, behavioural disorders, developmental concerns, trauma-related conditions, and other childhood psychiatric conditions. Conduct detailed clinical assessments and appropriate risk evaluations. Provide medication management where clinically indicated and monitor treatment response and side effects. Work closely with parents and caregivers to provide education, guidance, and appropriate therapeutic recommendations. Collaborate with paediatricians, psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, nurses, and other allied health professionals. Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning. Maintain accurate, confidential, and comprehensive clinical records. Contribute to clinical quality improvement, patient safety, and service development initiatives. Participate in teaching, supervision, and continuing professional development activities where required. Requirements Medical degree from a recognised institution. Recognised postgraduate qualification in child psychiatry / psychiatry. Consultant-level clinical experience in child psychiatry. Experience exclusively or predominantly focused on paediatric mental health. Eligibility for consultant-level licensing/classification in the UAE, subject to the relevant health authority requirements. Arabic speaker – mandatory. Strong experience in the assessment and management of childhood psychiatric and developmental conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and their families.
