Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Emergency Medicine to join a leading hospital/healthcare group in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide expert emergency medical care, manage critically ill and trauma patients, and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department.Manage medical, surgical, trauma, pediatric, and other acute/emergency presentations.Perform emergency procedures and interventions within the scope of practice and clinical privileges.Rapidly assess and stabilize critically ill and deteriorating patients.Lead the management of major trauma, cardiac emergencies, stroke, sepsis, respiratory emergencies, and other life-threatening conditions.Coordinate with specialists, intensivists, surgeons, and other multidisciplinary teams for appropriate patient management and disposition.Ensure timely admission, transfer, referral, or discharge of patients based on clinical needs.Participate in resuscitation and emergency response teams, including cardiac arrest and major trauma management.Provide clinical leadership and supervision to Emergency Medicine specialists, physicians, residents, and other clinical staff.Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, procedures, and outcomes.Follow hospital policies, clinical guidelines, infection-control standards, and patient-safety protocols.Participate in clinical audits, quality-improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality meetings, and departmental activities.Support teaching, training, and mentoring of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances, guidelines, and best practices in Emergency Medicine.Participate in departmental meetings, on-call duties, and shift schedules as required.Required QualificationsMedical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.Recognized postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine, such as:Arab BoardAmerican BoardUK/Ireland Fellowship or equivalentEuropean Board or other recognized specialist qualificationAppropriate specialist/consultant-level experience in Emergency Medicine.Current BLS and ACLS certification; ATLS/PALS certification is highly desirable.Strong clinical judgment and advanced resuscitation skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, multidisciplinary emergency-care environment.Preferred ExperiencePrevious experience working in a tertiary-care or internationally accredited hospital.Experience managing major trauma and critically ill patients.Experience in emergency procedures, resuscitation, and critical care stabilization.Experience in clinical leadership, teaching, and departmental quality-improvement programs.Key CompetenciesEmergency and critical-care managementAdvanced resuscitation and stabilizationTrauma managementClinical decision-makingLeadership and team managementPatient safety and quality improvementMultidisciplinary coordinationCommunication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work efficiently under pressure.Employment DetailsPosition: Consultant – Emergency MedicineLocation: UAEDepartment: Emergency MedicineEmployment Type: Full-timeReporting To: Head of Emergency Medicine / Medical Director
