Job description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled consultant pediatric surgeon to join a leading healthcare provider in the Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra regions. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents, managing both elective and emergency pediatric surgical conditions while working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose, evaluate, and manage congenital and acquired surgical conditions in pediatric patients.
Perform a wide range of elective and emergency pediatric surgical procedures, including neonatal surgery where applicable.
Conduct minimally invasive (laparoscopic and thoracoscopic) pediatric surgical procedures when appropriate.
Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care.
Collaborate closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, pediatric intensivists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, and other specialists.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical governance activities.
Respond to pediatric surgical emergencies and participate in the on-call roster.
Ensure accurate documentation of clinical findings, surgical procedures, and patient progress.
Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, patient safety protocols, and Department of Health (DOH) regulations.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, research, and accreditation programs.
Mentor junior physicians, residents, and allied healthcare professionals.
Support continuous medical education and professional development activities.
