Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in electric propulsion, EV systems, industrial electric drives, or electric mobility projects. Strong hands-on experience with: PMSM motors Axial flux motors Inverters and motor drives HV battery systems Chargers and power electronics Cooling and thermal management systems Strong understanding of: HV safety systems Electrical protection systems Energy management systems Electric propulsion architecture Communication protocols and real-time system operation Ability to define system communication flow, signal mapping, and operational logic for integration with programming and automation teams. Strong troubleshooting, testing, and system integration capabilities. Experience in EV, automotive, industrial automation, robotics, or electric mobility industries is considered a strong advantage.  
Description
Sunreef Yachts is seeking an experienced Electric Propulsion Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced electric propulsion systems for next-generation electric and hybrid platforms. The role focuses on propulsion architecture, high-voltage systems, communication networks, testing, and overall system integration.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electric propulsion architectures for electric and hybrid mobility platforms. Lead integration and operation of: PMSM motors Axial flux motors Inverters and motor controllers Onboard chargers High-voltage battery systems DC/DC converters Power distribution systems Define system architecture, electrical interfaces, communication logic, and operational strategies between propulsion components. Be fully familiar with communication protocols and system behavior, ensuring proper integration between all propulsion devices and delivering clear technical requirements and interface definitions to the PLC/software programming teams. Be familiar with communication protocols including CAN Bus, CANopen, Modbus, NMEA 2000, Ethernet/IP, and other industrial communication systems, and collaborate closely with the PLC/software programming teams to define communication logic, signal mapping, and system integration requirements.Support battery integration, thermal management, and cooling system design for motors, inverters, and HV battery packs. Perform load testing, validation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of electric propulsion systems. Work closely with software, PLC, HMI, and automation teams during system integration and commissioning. Support fault analysis, safety systems, real-time monitoring, and system protection strategies. Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers for propulsion equipment integration, testing, and technical support.
