The role serves as a key liaison between surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, patients, and other hospital departments to facilitate smooth surgical operations while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and patient care standards.ResponsibilitiesSchedule elective, urgent, and emergency surgical procedures in accordance with guidelines.Coordinate operating room availability, surgeon schedules, anesthesia coverage, and required resources.Review and verify surgical booking requests for completeness and accuracy.Ensure appropriate allocation of operating rooms based on procedure type, duration, and priority.Verify patient demographics, medical records, and required documentation prior to scheduling.Ensure pre-operative requirements, tests, and clearances are completed before surgery dates.Communicate surgery dates and scheduling information to patients and relevant departments as required.Maintain accurate surgical schedules and records within the hospital information system.Track cancellations, delays, and scheduling conflicts and assist in identifying process improvements.Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality and data protection requirements.Adhere to hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.Support initiatives aimed at improving operating room efficiency, patient flow, and service quality.Participate in departmental audits and quality improvement activities.QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field.Minimum 2-3 years of scheduling, administrative, or coordination experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.Experience in operating room, surgical services, or perioperative services is preferred.
