Requirements
BS or diploma in computer science engineering, IT, Electrical/ Electronics engineering or Mechanical engineering is required.Minimum 5 years of IT experience with at least 3 years in Data Centers.APC infrastructure experience is required.Should be able to co-ordinate the day to day activities and preventive maintenance with the facility team and IT staff as per the instructions of the Data Center Lead.Should have good experience with communications circuits and Ethernet cabling (structured copper cabling and fiberoptic cables).Proficient in Windows server and Linux configuration and troubleshooting.Proficient in MS Office.Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical components like Online Double Conversion UPS, Dynamic Rotary UPS,medium/low voltage circuits, and chilled water-cooled HVAC systems.
Description
Data Center Planner oversees activities carried out by 24x7 shift teams for Data Centers as well as responsible for ensuring sufficient personnel is available for each Operations shift. Shall also carry out capacity planning, ensuring new deployments meet the capacity requirements. Is responsible for making sure the racking and associated activities, including any changes, are in compliance with the Data Center standards and Change processes.The work location would be in Thuwwal, Saudi Arabia.Scope of WorkCapacity planning for Data Center hosting.Prepare racking diagrams and assign it to relevant shifts.Oversee racking and related activities carried out by the DC Operations team.Manage the shift schedule for the Data Center Operations.Liaise with OSP/ISP Team for the interbuilding connectivity requirements.Plan and recommend Data Center Operational requirements.Vendor ManagementManage Data Center Asset RegisterOversee break/fix of all Windows/Linux servers throughout the Data Center when hardware failures occur by helping the system owners/proponents troubleshoot issues and sending the appropriate hardware in coordination with the Vendor.Proactive Monitoring and recording of facility security, HVAC, Fire Detection and Suppression Systems, Temperature, Humidity and critical power systems.Ensuring that the Data Center is secure at all times. Ensure all visitors are signed in and escorted at all times while in the Data Centers.Perform other various misc. operational duties as per the SOP approved by the Data Center LeadCompliance with TIA 942 standards for Copper and Fiber cabling across all Data CentersInterface with vendors such as HP, Dell, SUN and Supermicro on the implementation of hardware/systems.Willing to work a flexible shift including nights and weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation, if and when required.Participates and performs any other tasks that are assigned by upper management as required.
