Functional Roles and Responsibilities
• To supervise and monitor all works carried out by machine shop workers for assigned jobs and ensure adherence to quality standards and timeframes thereby enabling timely execution of jobs.
• Obtain the cutting list and drawing from the machine shop supervisor, prepare summary and check/allocate timber based on the density, moisture content, appearance and other specifications required for the production.
• Assist machine shop supervisor in preparing samples/mockups required for client/consultant approval.
• Organize cutting list and measurement of the various components in accordance with the approved drawing for the machine shop to start production.
• Supervise the work regularly, provide on-the-spot guidance to ensure high quality craftsmanship and keep machine shop supervisor posted on the progress of the work.
• Arrange movement of the various components to assembly section/paint shop in order to assemble the components in the form of a finished product in accordance with the sample.
Education/Certification and Continued Education
• Trade certificate in mechanical and relevant experience in carpentry/joinery institute/workshop.
Years of Experience
• 3 - 5 years experience in the same trade.
