Here's what you'll do during a typical day:
Leadership & commercial strategy
Act as the second-in-line within the commercial department, supporting the director of commercial in executing the hotel's commercial strategy.
Lead the sales team in the absence of the director of commercial, ensuring continuity of operations and achievement of business objectives.
Assist in developing and implementing annual sales plans, budgets, and revenue strategies aligned with Hilton's commercial objectives.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to identify new business opportunities.
Collaborate closely with revenue management, marketing, reservations, and operations to maximize hotel performance.
Business development
Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key corporate, government, leisure, MICE, and long-stay accounts.
Prospect and secure new business opportunities to increase market share and hotel revenue.
Conduct regular sales calls, client presentations, networking events, and site inspections.
Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements in line with hotel policies and profitability goals.
Maintain an active sales pipeline and ensure timely follow-up on all business opportunities.
Revenue generation
Drive room, meeting, events, and ancillary revenue across all market segments.
Analyze production reports and account performance to maximize revenue opportunities.
Work closely with the revenue team on pricing strategies, demand periods, and business mix optimization.
Ensure account production meets or exceeds agreed revenue targets.
Team leadership & development
Coach, mentor, and develop sales managers, GC&E executive, and sales executives to enhance performance and professional growth.
Conduct regular sales meetings, account reviews, and performance discussions.
Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning within the sales team.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and customer excellence.
Client relationship management
Maintain excellent relationships with existing clients while actively expanding the customer portfolio.
Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns to maintain high levels of client satisfaction and loyalty.
Represent the hotel at trade shows, exhibitions, networking events, and industry functions.
Promote Hilton Honors for Business and other Hilton commercial initiatives.
Commercial collaboration
Partner with marketing to execute promotional campaigns, digital initiatives, and lead-generation activities.
Collaborate with revenue management to evaluate pace, forecasts, and business opportunities.
Work closely with operations to ensure seamless delivery of contracted services and exceptional guest experiences.
Support the preparation of monthly commercial reviews, forecasts, and business reports.
Reporting & administration
Maintain accurate account information and sales activities within Hilton's CRM systems.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports and performance analyses.
Monitor sales KPIs and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, commercial processes, and company policies.
Financial responsibilities
Achieve assigned revenue, ADR, market share, and profitability targets.
Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
Monitor account profitability and ensure commercially sound decision-making.
Support cost-conscious sales initiatives while maximizing return on investment.
