  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Materials Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Typically 8–12 years of relevant experience in stores, warehouse, inventory, or materials management, preferably within power, EPC, infrastructure, or construction projects.

  • Proven experience managing project stores and warehouses for large-scale power or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, civil, mechanical, and construction-related materials and equipment.

  • Experience in managing material receipt, inspection, preservation, issuance, inventory control, and reconciliation.

  • Strong understanding of inventory management, material coding, stock control, and warehouse procedures.

  • Experience handling high-value and sensitive electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, cables, panels, and associated accessories will be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of ERP-based inventory and warehouse management systems; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of material documentation including Purchase Orders, Delivery Notes, Material Receipt Notes, Material Requisitions, Material Issue Notes, and Stock Transfer Notes.

Description
Lead and manage overall store and warehouse operations for power project sites.Plan and coordinate receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, issuance, and dispatch of materials and equipment.Ensure timely availability of electrical, civil, mechanical, MEP, consumable, and project-specific materials as per construction requirements.Establish and maintain effective material control systems to ensure accurate inventory and traceability.Receive materials against approved purchase orders, delivery notes, material requisitions, and project documentation.Coordinate with Procurement, Construction, Planning, QA/QC, Engineering, and Finance teams for material requirements and deliveries.Verify quantities, specifications, part numbers, and physical condition of materials received.Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection and approval of materials before acceptance and use.Ensure proper identification, tagging, segregation, and storage of materials according to their type and usage.Maintain appropriate storage and preservation conditions for sensitive electrical and technical equipment.Manage material issuance against approved material requests and ensure proper authorization and documentation.Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment requests to avoid shortages or project delays.Track critical and long-lead items and coordinate with Procurement and Project teams to ensure timely delivery.Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issues, returns, transfers, damages, shortages, and excess materials.Conduct regular physical stock verification and periodic cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions to minimize losses and wastage.Monitor slow-moving, surplus, obsolete, and damaged materials and coordinate appropriate disposal or transfer.Ensure proper handling, preservation, and storage of cables, transformers, switchgear, electrical equipment, tools, spare parts, and other power-project materials.Manage material transfers between warehouses, project sites, and other locations as required.Coordinate with logistics teams for transportation, loading, unloading, and safe movement of materials.Ensure compliance with project specifications, company procedures, quality requirements, and HSE standards.Implement appropriate housekeeping, stacking, access control, fire prevention, and material-handling practices within warehouse and storage areas.Supervise storekeepers, material controllers, warehouse staff, and other store personnel.Allocate responsibilities, monitor performance, and ensure adequate staffing and productivity.Train store personnel on inventory procedures, documentation, material handling, and safety requirements.Develop and maintain store procedures, inventory controls, and documentation systems.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and material movement reports for project management.Monitor inventory value, consumption, wastage, and material utilization against project requirements.Support project audits and ensure availability of complete material records and supporting documentation.Assist the commercial and project teams in tracking material costs, variations, excess materials, and material-related claims.Ensure proper project close-out, including reconciliation and handover of surplus, unused, and returnable materials.Drive continuous improvement in inventory accuracy, material availability, storage efficiency, and cost optimization.
