Requirements
Candidates should possess a strong preference for a medical degree (MD) or an advanced science degree (PhD). Master's/bachelor's degrees in a scientific discipline (Pharmacists) may be considered with relevant experience. A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required, with specialized therapeutic area expertise in Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, or Medical Aesthetics being preferable. Medical affairs experience, including advisory board management, publications, and scientific exchange activities, is essential. Strong leadership, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
Description
This position is responsible for:Current and upcoming Medical Aesthetics portfolios and their associate indications.Own and drive Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) engagement.Lead scientific exchange with HCPs and report/advise cross-functional team on future medical activitiesAdvise and share feedback on brand strategy, development of tactical planning in collaboration with brand team in marketing department.Contribute to the total competency of Medical Affairs, not limited to technical aspects.Contribute to medical-marketing messaging and approval procedures required.Position OverviewDevelops and maintains professional relationships with internal and external customers to provide comprehensive medical and scientific support to Allergan initiatives in assigned therapeutic areas.Executes against the Medical Affairs plan for Saudi Arabia and MEA region.Provides scientific education and training initiatives across Allergan Aesthetics portfolio.Performs field visits with key physicians and stakeholders, organizing advisory board meetings, facilitating clinical trials, and serving as the medical resource for both external and internal stakeholders.This position is a non-promotional role. The primary focus is providing Healthcare Professionals with fair and balanced scientific information.Facilitate information, education, and research activities for physicians and ancillary healthcare professionals regarding current and future therapies in development or commercialized by Allergan. Works closely with other Allergan personnel to ensure information, education, and research needs of healthcare professionals are met and to ensure scientific and technical training needs of commercial organizations are identified and met.Key Duties and Responsibilities Business Planning, Internal Trainings, External training & education, thought leadership identification, development and engagement, Clinical studies feasibility & Pharmacovigilance and compliance in addition to being an expert in the therapy area.Skills/Qualifications:Educational Qualifications:Strong preference for medical degree (MD), or advanced degree of science (PhD).Candidates with Master's/bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (Pharmacists) can be considered in given the previous work experience.Relevant experience:Minimum of 2 – 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.Specialized therapeutic area expertise is more preferable (Dermatology or experience in Dermatology, Plastic surgery or Medical Aesthetics therapeutic area is preferred).Medical affairs experience in various activities or full understanding: such as advisory board management, publication, and other scientific exchange activities.Good understanding of local market.Experience in establishing strong influential relationships with KOLs and proof of KOL development.Good understanding of multinational culture and ways of working.For Internal candidates: At least 2 years in Abbvie with successful track record.Based in Riyadh, Willing to travel as necessary for business purposes.Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies:Personal:Good leadership skills and able to persuade at all levels within the organization (including Commercial team) as well as with external customers (KOLs, HCPs, etc.)Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills along with a positive attitude on learning.Professional:Thinking strategically and being able to develop and execute plans at country level.Specifically, able to understand in-depth knowledge and clinical aspects of medical aesthetics.Excellent presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills.Able to engage HCPs and communicate effectively with them as well as medical institution and/or association.Comply to all business ethics and all applicable regulations to secure personal credibility and integrity as well as Allergan.Language Requirements:English Fluent in verbal & written .Technical:Proficient computer skills, including MS office.
