Job purpose
Supervise the optimization and formulation of drilling and completion fluids as per the prescribed well program for each well. Contribute to improvements in overall well quality and cost optimization. Plan fluid requirements, build and maintain the relevant inventories, and publish the associated report.
Job specific accountabilities (part 1)
Sample and analyze drilling mud at regular intervals as well as whenever required in order to ensure smooth and efficient drilling operations.
Calculate and report the daily low gravity solids percentages. Test oil based mud (OBM) upon receiving and sending to mud plant.
Plan mud and chemical requirements based on drilling operational requirements.
Ensure the mud testing equipment are available on location, well maintained and calibrated.
Report the daily and cumulative mud utilization and cost, estimation of mud lost, and addition of fluids.
Recommend on the proper use of solids control equipment.
Maintain an inventory of material and equipment related to own area of operation. Advise and supervise rig crew during transfers.
Submit end of the section / well recap, including “Incident Report” whenever applicable, with observations and recommendations.
Participate in the product selection of chemicals and fluids to ensure fitness for purpose.
Ensure the quality and quantity of fluids delivered to drilling and workover sites as per set guidelines.
Ensure the appropriateness of recycling, treatment, and disposal of drilling fluids byproducts and wastes as per ADNOC waste management guidelines.
