Small businesses can now send salaries, reimbursements and instantly pay their suppliers on any mobile wallet in Egypt.Overview Of The RoleWe're looking for a sharp, experienced Backend Developer, ideally with strong proficiency in Go, Node, or Java to help us build robust and scalable backend services powering our fintech applications.Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services for our fintech applications.Implement scalable and reliable microservices following established architectural standards and engineering practices.Work with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and contribute to well-defined domain and service boundaries.Develop and integrate event-driven services and asynchronous processing workflows.Work with workflow orchestration technologies such as Temporal to implement reliable business processes and long-running workflows.Design and implement well-structured RESTful APIs and service-to-service integrations.Collaborate with Product, Frontend, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.Investigate, debug, and resolve issues across distributed services and production environments.Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following established coding and security standards.Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability.Contribute to code reviews and continuously improve code quality and engineering practices.Monitor application health and help identify performance, reliability, and scalability issues.Maintain appropriate technical documentation for services, APIs, and system behavior.Participate in Agile development practices including planning, refinement, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives.Skills & Qualifications2–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend development experience.Proficiency in at least one of Go, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Node.js, Express.js, or NestJS.Good understanding of microservices architecture and distributed application concepts.Practical understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) concepts.Experience working with event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication.Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases and a good understanding of data modeling.Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles.Experience writing unit and integration tests.Hands-on experience with debugging and troubleshooting backend applications.Basic understanding of application monitoring, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative software development practices.Good understanding of software engineering fundamentals, clean code, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Nice to HaveExperience with Temporal or other workflow orchestration platforms.Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with CI/CD practices.Experience working in fintech, payments, banking, or other high-availability systems.Familiarity with distributed systems concepts such as idempotency, retries, eventual consistency, and fault tolerance.
