Requirements
Minimum Degree in Surveying, Engineering, Geomatics or related field with 6-8 years of survey reporting/QA experience. Offshore Middle East experience is required, along with proficiency in MS Office, GIS, Adobe, SonarWiz, EIVA NaviEdit/NaviModel, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, GIS platforms, Qinsy/Qimera, and Fledermaus. Strong understanding of hydrographic, geophysical and pipeline inspection survey workflows, document control, revision management, NCR/CAPA, and quality assurance is essential. Experience in site seabed debris survey and pipeline route survey is preferred.
Description
About the RoleTo establish a controlled survey reporting QA/QC function that ensures all survey, geophysical, hydrographic, ROV support and pipeline & structure inspection deliverables are technically verified, traceable, compliant with client specifications, and suitable for final submission. Key ResponsibilitiesField data integrity: Verify completeness, tractability and consistency of raw survey data, processed data, logs, metadata, calibration records, navigation files, positioning records and field reports before reporting acceptance.Geophysical interpretation QAQC: Review interpretation of SSS, MBES, SBP, magnetometer, pipeline & structure inspection and ROV-support datasets to confirm that free spans, scours, debris, crossings, exposures and anomalies are correctly classified and reported.ROV vs survey cross-checking: Cross-check geophysical findings against ROV inspection records, video logs, stills, eventing sheets and as-built/client data to identify mismatches before final report submission.Tender/project support: Review tender assumptions, survey methodology, reporting requirements, deliverables matrix and client specifications to ensure QAQC needs are built into the project from the start.Deliverable acceptance: Establish formal report acceptance criteria/checklists for each survey scope, including minimum content, drawings, charts, mosaics, event lists, anomaly registers and supporting appendices.Subcontractor control: Review and monitor subcontractor survey processing/reporting outputs, including competence, software used, deliverable quality, revision control, and responsiveness to comments.NCR and technical query management: Raise, track and close technical NCRs, observations, comments and client queries related to survey deliverables.Lessons learned: Maintain a survey reporting lessons learned register and ensure recurring reporting errors are addressed through template updates, checklists or additional verification steps.Accountable for ensuring that survey reporting and technical deliverables do not introduce operational risk through inaccurate seabed, pipeline, debris, obstruction, crossing, exposure, scour or free span information.Responsible for escalating survey data discrepancies that may affect diving, ROV, lifting, trenching, pipelay, vessel positioning, SIMOPS or subsea construction activities.Identify key areas for improvement in procedure and processes relating to data processing, develop required procedures and oversee the implementation of the procedure and process.KPI monitoring: Track survey/reporting quality KPIs such as report rejection rate, number of client comments, NCRs, rework hours, late deliverables and repeat findings.QualificationsMinimum Degree in Surveying, Engineering, Geomatics or related field6-8 years survey reporting / QAOffshore Middle East experienceMS Office, GIS, Adobe, SonarWiz, EIVA NaviEdit/NaviModel, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, GIS platforms, Qinsy/Qimera, FledermausStrong understanding of hydrographic, geophysical and pipeline inspection survey workflows and document control, revision management, NCR/CAPA and quality assuranceStrong technical survey writing and QA mindsetExperience in site seabed debris survey and pipeline route survey
