Job Description
Stock and maintain the tools and equipment required by the technicians across franchise locations and facilitate the receipt and issuance of tools in an efficient and timely manner enabling smooth functioning of the service process. Liaise with the “Workshop Tool Coordinator (WTC)” to procure tools for the location.
Receive the requirements (new and warranty replacement) of special tools/diagnostic equipment from all the franchises available in that location. Submit the request to Workshop Tools Coordinator for arranging the purchase.
Suggest potential suppliers to establish best price, quality, and service standards and recommend favourable suppliers to WTC for review and confirmation.
Assess the requirements for tools and equipment in case of new locations and proactively request optimal quantities to support operations.
Follow up with the WTC or supplier to ensure the tools are delivered on time, identify any damage or loss on receipt and return for replacement or refund.
Maintain the tool room to ensure tools are stored in an orderly manner to facilitate easy pick up and delivery.
Issue, record, and dispatch tools to the technicians as per the requirements, receive and verify them as per the delivery note. Conduct periodical or surprise audits of technicians’ toolboxes and report to Workshop Manager or WTC about any discrepancy. Also arrange to replace missing tools by debiting the amount to technicians.
If tools are not available in the location, coordinate with other tool room in-charge or WTC to get the tools and return them on a timely basis.
Replace broken tools with the technician. If the breakage is due to the technician’s negligence, arrange to recover the cost from the concerned technician.
Keep track of the maintenance schedules for the tools and equipment. Coordinate with the suppliers to ensure the tools are repaired and maintained in good condition.
Monitor the level of lubricants in tanks and place orders as and when required.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the sales and disposal of scrap and used tyres, particularly ensuring the process is carried out as per the company policy.
Arrange a stock check on an annual basis as per the statutory requirements of audit. Perform perpetual inventory checks and document the same.
Coordinate with WTC to provide maintenance contact for trouble-free running of major equipment.
Keep up to date with government fire, health, safety, and environment regulations and make sure the workshops are in compliance with the same.
Ensure fire extinguishers and water dispensers are properly maintained and emergency doors are not blocked.
Coordinate with all concerned involved in exchange programs organized by manufacturers. Take responsibility for packing, forwarding, and receiving of exchange items. Maintain all documents related to the exchange program.
Coordinate with facility management in case of any issues in the building (AC, water supply, electricity, breakages, etc.).
Qualifications and Skills:
High/Intermediate school education.
2 years experience in stores.
Attention to detail, confidence, and good interpersonal skills.
Able to work on Microsoft Office Excel.
