We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced consultant pediatric rheumatologist to join a leading healthcare provider in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will provide specialized diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders in infants, children, and adolescents while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary pediatric team.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of pediatric rheumatologic and autoimmune disorders, including:
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA)
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
Juvenile dermatomyositis
Vasculitis
Periodic fever syndromes and autoinflammatory diseases
Connective tissue disorders
Pediatric scleroderma
Musculoskeletal pain syndromes
Perform comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Interpret laboratory investigations, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tests related to rheumatologic conditions.
Prescribe and monitor disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologic therapies, and immunosuppressive medications.
Provide joint injections and other procedures where credentialed.
Educate and counsel patients and families regarding disease management, treatment options, and long-term follow-up.
Collaborate with pediatricians, nephrologists, dermatologists, immunologists, orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and other specialists to provide coordinated patient care.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education (CME).
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
Mentor junior physicians and contribute to teaching and academic activities where applicable.

Qualifications & requirements
MBBS/MD with a recognized postgraduate qualification in pediatrics.
Fellowship or board certification in pediatric rheumatology (or equivalent recognized consultant qualification).
Minimum 5–10 years of post-specialization experience at the consultant level.
Eligibility for or possession of a Dubai Health Authority (DHA) consultant license. Candidates eligible for licensing are encouraged to apply.
Expertise in diagnosing and managing complex pediatric autoimmune and rheumatologic disorders.
Excellent clinical, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred candidate profile
Experience working in internationally accredited children's hospitals or tertiary care centers.
Fellowship training in pediatric autoimmune diseases or related subspecialties is an added advantage.
UAE or GCC experience is preferred but not mandatory.
