Civil Contracts EngineerLocation: Umm Al Quwain, UAEEmployment Type: Full-timeIndustry: Construction / Civil EngineeringExperience: 3 - 8 YearsJob SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Civil Contracts Engineer to manage and administer construction contracts, ensuring that contractual obligations, commercial requirements, project timelines, and compliance standards are effectively maintained.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in civil construction projects, contract administration, claims, variations, subcontract management, and commercial coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day administration of civil construction contracts.Review and interpret contract documents, specifications, drawings, and commercial terms.Prepare, review, and negotiate contractual correspondence with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones, and project requirements.Manage variations, claims, extensions of time (EOT), and change orders.Prepare and evaluate subcontract agreements and commercial documentation.Review interim payment applications, valuations, and supporting documentation.Maintain proper records of contractual notices, instructions, approvals, and correspondence.Identify contractual and commercial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.Assist with the preparation and submission of claims and entitlement assessments.Coordinate with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Planning Engineers, Procurement, and Site Teams.Ensure compliance with contract conditions and applicable company procedures.Support dispute avoidance and resolution activities.Prepare contractual and commercial reports for management.Ensure all contractual documentation is properly maintained and updated.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.3-8 years of experience in contracts administration within civil construction.Strong knowledge of construction contract principles and commercial practices.Good understanding of variations, claims, EOT, payment terms, and subcontract administration.Strong contractual and commercial negotiation skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to review and interpret technical and contractual documents.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.Experience working with contractors, consultants, and clients in a project environment.What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work on major civil construction projects.Professional development and career growth opportunities.Collaborative and challenging project environment.
