Requirements
Candidates must possess IRATA rope access certification (Level I, II, or III). Additional certifications such as Industrial Rescue Course, Confined Space Entry (CSE), and inspection of Climbing and Rescue Equipment are considered an asset. A thorough knowledge of the IRATA Code of Practice, TACS, and offshore processes including Permit to Work (PTW) systems is required. Familiarity with Windows-based applications and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., SAP) is also expected. Physical requirements include passing drug and alcohol tests, safe lifting of up to 50lbs, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in confined spaces and at heights for 12-hour shifts.

Wood is recruiting a Rope Access Technician (Abseiler)- Offshore Adhoc (Casual /Temporary) to join its Operations team focusing on the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This opportunity is offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, working on an as needed, call-out basis.

The Role

  • Location: Offshore Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Site / Office based: Hibernia 
  • Hours of work: 12 hours per day
  • Rotation / work pattern: Call out, as needed
  • Required: Site-specific medical, drug and alcohol testing
  • Unionized position: Rates follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement

You will be working in confined spaces and/or at heights, as well as noisy conditions. Work may be indoors or outdoors, and at extreme temperatures.
