Description
To provide proactive legal advisory support to a leading bank's businesses transactions, products development and initiatives, ensuring alignment with applicable legal, regulatory, market and internal standards.Principal Accountabilities:To provide support on UAE banking transactions by effectively collaborating with other lawyers in the legal team and advising internal business stakeholders and ensuring this is done with minimal legal risk.To support the Head of Advisory, Legal on various transactions to include syndications, derivatives, and structured finance legal framework matters.Supporting senior lawyers with drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements including, but not limited to, software licensing, services, procurement, subscription and payment services arrangements.Draft, review and negotiate all types of lending and security documentation including, but not limited to, credit facility agreements, term loans, assignments, pledges and movable security agreements.Sound working knowledge of Islamic Finance documentation structuresSolid knowledge of UAE laws relating to corporate, commercial, financing and security transactions.Support the Head of Advisory, Legal with the management of legal and regulatory risks by identifying potential issues early and sharing these findings with other lawyers to assist with advise on appropriate mitigating strategies, thereby protecting the bank's reputation and business interests.Participating and encouraging collaboration across legal, business, and functional teams that facilitate smooth execution of mandates.Skilled in upholding high standards of conduct and ethical behavior, promoting transparent decision-making and adherence to internal and external legal requirements.Job Requirements (Qualification/Experience):Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent and admission to practice from any jurisdiction.Common Law qualification preferred.Minimum of 2–5 years post-qualification experience specializing in banking and finance, spanning private practice and in-house counsel roles ideally handling complex legal matters.Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
