Description
The Mechanical / Static Equipment Engineer Specialist will lead the mechanical design review, construction support, commissioning, testing, and engineering activities for new shale gas facilities. The role requires extensive experience with static and rotating equipment in oil and gas production facilities, along with a strong understanding of plant operations, process technologies, equipment reliability, and maintenance.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from engineering design and installation to commissioning, startup, operations support, and optimization. The role also requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and support for Saudi Aramco's capital investment and business strategy initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical design reviews for new installation and upgrade projects.
Develop and review engineering design packages, PFDs, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
Provide day-to-day technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams.
Troubleshoot static and rotating equipment issues and recommend solutions.
Support construction, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities.
Participate in Turnaround & Inspection (T&I) and performance testing activities.
Conduct feasibility studies and recommend technical and economic optimization solutions.
Lead multidisciplinary teams, prepare technical reports, and support management decisions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or gas processing facilities.
Strong experience in static equipment (vessels, exchangers, columns, tanks, reactors).
Good knowledge of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines).
Experience in EPC phases: FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning.
Strong knowledge of ASME, API, and TEMA codes and standards.
Working knowledge of engineering software (PVElite, CAESAR II, HTRI).
Strong communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
