As a Backstand Technician, you'll play a critical role in converting large paper roll stock into cut-size paper, preparing materials, operating machinery, and keeping your workspace clean and efficient. This is a growth-focused position. You'll be expected to advance to Material Handler within 6-9 months of your hire date.Key Responsibilities Roll stripping, prepping and loading. Operate cutting or other hand tools and perform physical lifting safely. Follow written or electronic operating procedures. Maintain general housekeeping standards and basic maintenance duties. Work safely and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Progression Opportunity – Material Handler (within 6-9 Months):New Rate: $25.19/hr + $1.50/hr Shift PremiumAdditional Responsibilities Material Handling- Follow transporting & stacking guidelines, Shipping & Receiving- Railcars & Trailers. Operate Powered Industrial Trucks: Fork Truck, Clamp Truck, Dual Fork Truck, Bale Clamp Truck, and Aerial Work Platform. Proper use of hoists, and dollies. Load/unload trucks, laying rolls, move pallets and other heavy materials. Complete daily safety inspections and maintain work areas. Uphold standards in safety, quality, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping.Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Mechanical aptitude or previous industrial experience preferred. Able to perform physical tasks and work 12-hour rotating shifts. Basic skills in math, reading, writing, and computer use.
