Job SummaryThe primary role of the Sr. Accountant is to support the functional activities in accounting and reporting. this will include receivables & payable accounting, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, cash and banking accounting.Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare and submit monthly Accounts Receivable (AR) aging reports to the Finance Manager and generate/distribute customer account statements on a regular basis.Prepare provision reports and management reports to support financial analysis and decision making.Calculate, prepare, and process commission payments for Sales Representatives and Brokers.Perform monthly reconciliations, including customer and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.Resolve customer queries, coordinate with relevant departments for timely issue resolution, and review motor insurance claim files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company procedures.Support month end and year end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in line with accounting standards.Assist in the preparation of financial statements and schedules, ensuring compliance with IFRS 17 accounting standards and regulatory requirements.Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations during audit reviews.Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant financial regulations where applicable.Maintain and update accounting records in Insurance Accounting systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across financial modules.Candidate Requirements Must have graduated in Accounting/Commerce and display good relevant accounting knowledge A minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Accountant or Senior Accountant, preferably in a multinational environment.
