Job Summary
The Landscaping Assistant supports the gardening and landscaping operations by performing routine horticultural tasks under the direction of the Gardening Supervisor. This role includes maintaining plant beds, lawns, trees, and outdoor features to ensure they are healthy, attractive, and safe. The Landscaping Assistant is expected to follow established guidelines and safety standards while helping to enhance the visual appeal of the property.
Conditions of Work
• Primary duties are performed outdoors across various landscaped areas of the property.
• Work may involve physical labor and exposure to varying weather conditions.
• May occasionally assist in other property areas as required by the Gardening Supervisor.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in planting, watering, pruning, mulching, mowing, weeding, and fertilizing.
• Operate basic gardening tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Support in the maintenance of lawns, flower beds, hedges, and outdoor features.
• Help monitor the condition of plants and report signs of pests, diseases, or poor health to the Supervisor.
• Assist with seasonal gardening tasks (e.g., planting cycles, leaf removal, pest control).
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in garden sheds, tool storage, and workspaces.
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective gear as required.
• Assist in setting up for landscaping projects or outdoor events when necessary.
• Ensure proper disposal of garden waste in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions promptly.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• High School Certificate or equivalent; vocational training in horticulture is a plus
• 1 to 2 years of experience in gardening or landscaping preferred
• Basic knowledge of plant care and gardening tools
• Ability to perform physical outdoor work for extended periods
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious Supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team
• Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices is a plus
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Salary:
AED
1,600 to 1,800
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
