Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Process Engineer to be based at our office in Abu Dhabi within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business, United Arab Emirates.
Due to the nature of the projects and client expectations, the position will be based at our office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Job objective
To lead and manage all process engineering activities on behalf of the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for ADNOC projects, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of process design and engineering in alignment with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and international best practices.
The role is responsible for providing technical leadership, overseeing EPC contractor deliverables, ensuring design integrity, optimizing process performance, and supporting the successful execution of the project within scope, schedule, and budget.
Key responsibilities
Ensure integration of overall process engineering and overall coordination within IPMT Process Engineering Team
Ensure quality and accuracy of engineering consultant’s and EPC contractor’s process engineering design activities
Review and approve engineering consultant's and EPC contractor’s work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices
Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models
Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation
Participate in teams for equipment sizing and equipment selection considering optimization and standardization
Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects
Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects
Participate in layout reviews, model review, design reviews, and technical workshops
Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers
Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation
Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning
Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization
Interface with managers, team leaders, and engineers in company’s technical departments, business units, operations units, and logistics department
Interface regularly with contractor’s engineering and project management team and discipline engineers as and when required

Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills
Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards
Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software
Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing, and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems
