Description
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Western-trained specialist orthopedic surgeon to join a leading healthcare provider in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive orthopedic care, including the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries, while delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose and manage a wide range of orthopedic conditions affecting bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and the spine.
Perform elective and emergency orthopedic surgical procedures, including:
- Fracture fixation and trauma surgery
- Joint replacement surgery (hip, knee, shoulder)
- Arthroscopic procedures
- Sports injury management
- Hand and upper limb surgery (where credentialed)
- Foot and ankle surgery (where credentialed)
Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up care.
Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans to optimize patient recovery and functional outcomes.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
Interpret diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and other relevant investigations.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with DHA regulations and hospital policies.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education (CME).
Mentor junior medical staff and contribute to departmental teaching and service development.
Requirements
Qualifications & requirements
MBBS/MD or equivalent medical qualification.
Board certification, fellowship, CCT, or equivalent recognized specialist qualification in orthopedic surgery.
Western-trained, with recognized specialist training from the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or other recognized Western European countries.
Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialization experience as a specialist orthopedic surgeon.
Eligibility for or possession of a Dubai Health Authority (DHA) specialist license.
Strong expertise in orthopedic trauma, joint reconstruction, arthroscopy, and general orthopedic surgery.
Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
Commitment to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered orthopedic care.
Preferred candidate profile
Experience working in internationally accredited hospitals or orthopedic centers.
Fellowship training in arthroplasty, sports medicine, trauma, spine surgery, hand surgery, foot & ankle surgery, or shoulder surgery is an added advantage.
UAE or GCC experience is preferred but not mandatory.
