Role overview
The successful candidate will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical environment supported by experienced consultants, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and modern diagnostic and endoscopy infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures according to clinical privileges, training and facility scope.
Manage conditions affecting the oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
Perform and interpret relevant investigations, including endoscopy, colonoscopy and other gastrointestinal diagnostic studies.
Develop individualised treatment plans and provide comprehensive follow-up and continuity of care.
Manage acute gastrointestinal presentations and coordinate appropriate inpatient care when required.
Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, nutritionists and other specialists for multidisciplinary patient management.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control and clinical governance standards.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives and service development activities.
